About Me
Why Alpacas?
I would love to have a dollar for every time I've been asked that question.
I discovered Alpacas by accident in 1997 as I searched for the perfect business opportunity that I could operate on my own and leave my longtime career in the business world. Alpacas fit the bill for me without question. There were few alpacas in the U.S. at that time.
This is a pic of me in those early years holding Commanche Gold. His mother was my first female, Katia. She was part of the original seed stock imported from Peru to grow the U.S. alpaca population. What a thrill it was when Commanche, that I birthed here on the farm, took 1st and Grand Champion at a large show in Ohio.
